Jan Edwards: Disco queen album

Jan Edwards' Disco Queen EP

Invites You to Boogie

Through Heartbreak and Freedom

Jan Edwards' dynamic five-track EP, Disco Queen, is a vibrant journey that makes you want to boogie and "dance like no one’s watching." With each track, Edwards delves into themes of heartbreak, freedom, romance, and passion, all while accentuating the healing power of dance and disco.

Dance The Pain Away

The EP opens with “Dance the Pain Away,” a vibrant track that encapsulates the cathartic nature of dance. The first verse of “Dance the Pain Away” narrates the story of a woman fooled by a man whose promises of grandeur clouded her judgement. When he inevitably lets her down and leaves her heartbroken she finds solace in the power of dance. This song sets the tone for the rest of the EP with Edwards encouraging listeners to shed their inhibitions while a pulsing beat drives listeners to their feet.

Disco Queen

The title track, “Disco Queen” is anthem of youthful exuberance and passionate freedom. This track paints a vivid picture where “short skirts, high heels” and electrifying energy encapsulate the dance floor. “Disco Queen” does a phenomenal job of placing the listener center stage, embodying the role of the Disco Queen. With its vivid imagery and powerful call to “dance like no one’s watching, Disco Queen is a fun and empowering listen and experience.

Just Dance

“Just Dance” is another standout track on the EP. This track includes an infectious chant like command that makes you move your feet and groove to the beat. The lyrics, with the recurring line "let the world just dance," create an enchanting and fun atmosphere. The songs lively energy and playful nature makes this an ideal song to get lost in the rhythm to on the dance floor.

Slow Burn

Slowing things down, “Slow Burn” is a steamy ballad that swiftly transports listeners to an intimate space. “Slow Burn” follows the theme of liberation urging listeners to not deny passion. It opens with the inner turmoil of pursuing one's desires, reflected in lyrics like "release me from this cold cell," capturing the feeling of being trapped by fear of pursuing passion, love, and desire. The beautiful and enchanting chorus of “Slow Burn” offers a slower introspective look on the dance floor.

When We Dance

Closing the EP, "When We Dance" brings us back to the electrifying, pulsing beats that drive Disco Queen. This track encapsulates the excitement and energy of dancing with someone, serving as a fitting conclusion to an EP that celebrates the freedom and cathartic nature of disco.

Disco Queen is a celebration of the transformative power of dance and disco. Jan Edwards delivers a beautiful collection of songs that not only makes you boogie and groove but also offers you a deeper understanding of the healing power of dance.
