Fred Carpenter

Steps into the Spotlight with

Debut Vocal Album One More Thing

After decades of rousing audiences with his fiddle, Fred Carpenter takes center stage as a vocalist with his surprise debut album, One More Thing, released in January of 2025.

The project is a masterful blend of traditional roots music, stunning instrumentals, and authentic vocals, showcasing Carpenter’s deep musical heritage and undeniable artistry.

“Making a strong, heartfelt vocal album has been a long-time goal of mine,” says Carpenter. “These songs have been in my head since I was a kid in the ‘70s!” True to his vision, the album seamlessly weaves together rich melodies, acoustic brilliance, and an all-star lineup of harmony vocalists, including Vince Gill, Alison Krauss, Ricky Skaggs, Kathy Mattea, and more.

A seasoned musician, Carpenter’s journey began in Maine before leading him through the worlds of bluegrass, country, and beyond — playing alongside legends like Tony Rice, Emmylou Harris, and George Strait. Now, with One More Thing, he proves he’s just as captivating behind the mic as he is behind the bow and fiddle. Whether at The Violin Shop of Nashville or on the road, Fred Carpenter is a name that continues to resonate in music.
