Debut Single

“Hymn for Appalachia”

On May 16, 2024, Grant Knoxlyn debuted his studio single "Hymn for Appalachia", a song deeply rooted in the vivid landscapes of his Appalachian heritage and inspired by a serene afternoon in the United Kingdom. Knoxlyn, a versatile singer-songwriter known for his evocative narratives and genre-blending sound, has effectively channeled his experiences from Gettysburg, PA to Nashville into a track that resonates with heartfelt authenticity.

"Hymn for Appalachia" was crafted during a reflective moment abroad, where Knoxlyn found inspiration in the sunlit serenity reminiscent of his hometown in Pennsylvania. The creative spark led to a melody and riff that seemed to write themselves, encapsulating the nostalgia and essence of his roots in a profound musical expression. Recorded at Nashville's Gnarly Whale Sounds, the song is both a tribute to his past, as well as a celebration of the places and memories that shape our identities.

Knoxlyn’s journey enriches his music, allowing him to weave his experiences into songs that speak universally. "Hymn for Appalachia" is a testament to Knoxlyn's ability to blend traditional influences with modern innovation, making his debut a poignant reflection of personal and musical growth.

Knoxlyn shares: “While locked down in the United Kingdom during COVID, an unusually sunny afternoon was incredibly reminiscent of the spring days of my hometown stateside. Inexplicably, a riff came through my fingers followed quickly by a melody, and the song wrote itself that afternoon. After all this time, I'm elated it's getting the studio release it deserves.”

In "Hymn for Appalachia", Knoxlyn invites listeners to embark on a trip of discovery and connection. With his melodies and rich lyrical storytelling, Knoxlyn is revisiting his origins and further defining what it means to be a singer-songwriter in today's music scene.
